Newquay Junior Academy is open for access and engagement with parents and carers before school from 8.15 am-8.30 am. Parents and carers are welcome to take their child into the classroom and engage in the first part of our academy day to develop parent/teacher relationships.
The academy day finishes at 3:00 pm and parents should collect their child from the playground.
This amounts to 32.5 hours.
The academy day
8.15am: Academy gates open
8.30 : Parents can call into the academy to see a teacher if required.
8.30 am: Registration bell and learning starts
10.00am – 10.15 am: Break time Year 3 & 4
10.20am – 10.35am: Break time Year 5 & 6
11.45am – 12.30pm: Lunchtime for Year 3 & 4
12.35pm – 13.20pm: Lunchtime for Year 5 & 6
3:00pm: Afternoon session ends

This is an opportunity for the whole academy (learners, teachers and teaching assistants) to meet together in the hall to celebrate achievements within the academy. Certificates and Medals are presented to learners from each class by the Headteacher. Other special achievements/sporting achievements are also celebrated during this assembly. Other assemblies that take place during the week are:
Class teachers use the Jigsaw PSHE resources and Picture News resources to deliver class assemblies that focus on current affairs and linked to Fundamental British Values.
